چکیده

In this paper a new inverse filtering technique for the timedomain estimation of the glottal excitation is presented. This approach uses the DAP modeling for the vocal tract characterization, and a spectral model for the derivative of the glottal flow. This spectral model is based on the spectrum of the KLGLOTT88 model for the glottal source. The proposed procedure removes the glottal source from the spectrum of the speech signal in an accurate manner, particularly for highpitched signals and singing voice, and the estimated glottal waveforms present less amount of formant ripple.

Exploiting glottal formant parameters for glottal inverse filtering and parameterization

It is crucial for many methods of inverse filtering that the time domain information of the glottal source waveform is known, e.g. the location of the instant of glottal closure. It is often the case that this information is unknown and/or cannot be determined due to e.g. recording conditions which can corrupt the phase spectrum. In these scenarios, alternative strategies are required. This pap...

Experimental evaluation of inverse filtering using physical systems with known glottal flow and tract characteristics.

The technique presented here uses an impedance head to measure the input impedance spectrum of a physical model of a vocal tract, and then to inject a known glottal flow waveform into the tract. The sound measured outside the mouth is used to evaluate inverse filtering techniques by comparison with the known glottal flow and measured acoustical properties of the tract. The normalized least squa...

Iterative Optimal Preemphasis for Improved Glottal-Flow Estimation by Iterative Adaptive Inverse Filtering

Iterative adaptive inverse filtering (IAIF) [1] remains among the state-of-the-art algorithms for estimating glottal flow from the recorded speech signal. Here, we re-examine IAIF in light of its foundational, classical model of voiced (non-nasalized) speech, wherein the overall spectral tilt is caused only by lipradiation and glottal effects, while the vocal-tract transfer function contains fo...

Glottal inverse filtering based on quadratic programming

This study presents a novel quadratic programming based approach to glottal inverse filtering. The proposed method aims to jointly model the effect of the vocal tract and lip radiation with a single filter whose coefficients are optimized using the quadratic programming framework. This allows the proposed method to directly estimate the glottal flow of speech, which mitigates the problem of non...

Automatic Glottal Inverse Filtering with Non-Negative Matrix Factorization

This study presents an automatic glottal inverse filtering (GIF) technique based on separating the effect of the glottal main excitation from the impulse response of the vocal tract. The proposed method is based on a non-negative matrix factorization (NMF) based decomposition of an ultra short-term spectrogram of the analyzed signal. Unlike other state-of-theart GIF techniques, the proposed met...
